Fortnite leakers have uncovered images of two skins that will reportedly arrive in the Item Shop "soon" — a samurai Darth Vader and generic Stormtrooper.
According to Hypex, Darth Vader will be accompanied by a glowing red katana, the closest we've ever come to a lightsaber Pickaxe. Leakers @Black_Astley and @SamLeakss even found images showing it off, which you can see embedded below.
These samurai cosmetics aren't based on any Star Wars stories, per se.
Instead, they're a fun reimagining that harkens back to the franchise's roots, as George Lucas was famously inspired by classic samurai films. It's even speculated that the term 'Jedi' comes from jidaigeki (or "period drama"), something Lucas learned about while in Japan.
In a galaxy far, far away, boys and girls are still the same.
However, Fortnite isn't the first to reimagine these characters as samurai. There are several posters with a similar rendition of Darth Vader and the generic Stormtrooper (and even the two with Boba Fett). And you can get a samurai Darth Vader action figure for the low, low price of... £175.
There's no word yet on the pricing of these cosmetics in Fortnite, but something tells me they'll be a lot...
