Helldivers 2's team sizes are a little smaller than some online shooters, limiting us to a squad of four. It's, therefore, no surprise that some fans are eager for team sizes to be increased, letting us take on enemies of democracy with more Helldivers to back us up.
Helldivers 2's creative director, Johan Pilestedt, has commented on this. It's bad news for now though, as he explains that with how the game currently works, it's simply not possible to boost the team sizes. "The engine, network archotecture, UI, performance and difficulty can't cope. We need to do significant investment for 8p coop to work [sic]," explains Pilestedt. "Its not impossible, and its something we talk about often at the studio. Future will tell what happens."
So, there's some good and bad news there. The bad obviously being that no, we're not going to get a sudden update that lets us play...
