A reliable Xbox insider has claimed that the long-awaited State of Decay 3 could end up releasing in 2026 after originally being planned for release next year.
Over the past few years, Xbox has struggled to get a footing when it comes to consistent first-party releases, with most of the games that it revealed earlier in the generation still being in development. That's changed quite a lot recently, as it looks like Microsoft has quite the lineup planned for 2025 and 2026.
Is this a sign that Microsoft is throwing in the towel as a console manufacturer? Only time will tell, but it's certainly interesting.
With big releases like Fable, Doom: The Dark Ages, Avowed, South of Midnight, and more all aiming to launch next year, Xbox already has a rather impressive schedule ahead of it if all goes according to plan. That stacked roster was apparently also going to include another long-in-development first-party title, although it seems that it might slip to 2026 instead.
I am, of course, talking about Undead Labs' State of Decay 3, which was revealed all the way back in 2020 and has only been seen a handful of times...
