Grand Theft Auto V is now available in Xbox Game Pass. The addition comes with no prior tease or announcement. Instead the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account shared the news only as the game hit the library this morning, and they did so in a way the account has become known for.

If you plan on taking advantage of the new game in your Game Pass library, now is a good time to do it. GTA V is offering triple rewards in several game modes of Grand Theft Auto Online. All Free Mode events, including Hunt the Beast, Criminal Damage, and more, will dole out triple rewards until January 8. Additionally, taking part in Business Battles will net players with double the usual payouts. Playing anytime before then also grants all players with the new "It's A Wrap" livery for their cars, which brings a wintry design to the game.

Grand Theft Auto V originally launched in 2013 on previous generation consoles before it was remastered and brought to current generation systems the following year. It tells the story of three criminals whose live become interconnected in the city of Los Santos, a satirical and often architecturally one-for-one depiction of Los Angeles, California.

Rockstar's biggest game holds seven world records for sales according to the Guinness Book of World Records, including the fastest-selling video game in its first 24 hours as well as the fastest entertainment property to generate $1 billion.

Grand Theft Auto V carried forward the long-standing tradition of Rockstar earning nearly unanimous praise from everybody. Its OpenCritic score of 96 is in a three-way tie for second all-time on site, which also includes Rockstar's follow-up western epic, Red Dead Redemption 2. These games and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are behind only Super Mario Odyssey for the best aggregate score ever cemented on OpenCritic.
