Mario Fans Want A Bowser-Themed Beat 'Em Up For 40th Anniversary

It may be hard to believe, but come next year, the Super Mario Bros. franchise will be celebrating another major milestone. After celebrating 35 years of platforming in 2020, the franchise will mark 40 years in 2025.

The 35th anniversary brought some neat goodies, like the Super Mario 3D All-Stars compilation, so there's no telling what to expect. That said, fans are already dreaming of a scenario in which Bowser gets his own title. And if the evil Koopa were to get his own solo adventure, what would it look like? Well, these fans have some concepts in mind.

Brothership has a slow start, but once you unlock battle plugs, everything changes.

In a massive Reddit thread dedicated to Bowser video game concepts, fans were given the choice of an RPG, hack-and-slash or platformer for a potential game. As it turns out, a large portion of fans were in unison that a Bowser adventure should be a hack-and-slash.

"A Mario Hack-'n-Slash game with Bowser as the protagonist would be awesome," a user wrote. "Name it Koopa Warriors or something and have Mario as the final boss."
