Stardew Valley Has Sold Over 41 Million Copies Across All Platforms

It's 2024, and Stardew Valley continues to generate sales.

According to the game's official website, it has sold over 41 million copies across all platforms since its launch in 2016. That includes over 26 million copies sold on PC and nearly 8 million on Nintendo Switch.

First released for PC on February 26, 2016, the game sold one million copies in two months. It was eventually brought to Mac and Linux platforms that same year, with a release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in December 2016. It debuted on Nintendo Switch in late 2017 and made its mobile debut for iOS in October 2018, with Android following in March 2019.

One reason for Stardew Valley's sustained success is that developer ConcernedApe keeps updating the game.

Recently, Patch 1.6.15 features balance updates, quality of life changes, bug fixes, and localization updates for its Hungarian, Japanese, and Russian translations. Five major post-release updates have been developed, adding a host of new gameplay features to the game. Originally developed solely by Eric Barone, better known by his alias ConcernedApe, there is now a small team all working together on Stardew Valley.
