Nintendo has finally unleashed all of the details about its forthcoming premium paid Switch Online Service. Most excitingly, we now know that it will launch in September 2018 with a bevy of great features:

  • Save data cloud backup
  • 20 classic NES games with more added over time
  • online play with others from around the world for games like Splatoon 2, ARMS, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Mario Tennis and others
  • iOS and Android smartphone app to "enhance your online experience for compatible games"
  • other features to be announced over time

Pricing plans will be decently priced with a full year coming in at only $19.99. One and three month plans will also be available as will a "Family Membership" that covers up to 7 gamers for only $34.99. Subscriptions will start being accessible starting in September. Purchasing a plan can be done via retailers or through the Nintendo eShop.
