Since the gap between Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Rebirth was four years, you might assume we'll be waiting until 2028 for the trilogy to be completed. That might not be the case though as it turns out the plot for the trilogy-ending game was written and approved in 2024 which presumably means development is moving along pretty quickly, maybe even faster than it did for Rebirth.

Remake and Rebirth's producer Yoshinori Kitase confirmed as much during a recent interview with Famitsu (thanks, Genki_JPN). Kitase revealed Rebirth director Tetsuya Nomura handed in a complete version of the plot for the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy at the end of 2024. That meant the scenario for the next game could be finalized, adding that they are "very satisfied" with what Nomura has come up with for its conclusion.

Only three of them exist, and one of them will be given away to a lucky fan.
