Compulsion Games has officially confirmed the April release date for its highly anticipated Southern-themed fantasy adventure, South of Midnight. You also get a fresh glimpse into the world of Prospero in a brand-new trailer that was dropped alongside the announcement.
During the recent Xbox Developer_Direct presentation, Compulsion Games revealed that South of Midnight will premiere on April 8, 2025. The stop-motion action-adventure game is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PC, and as a day-one addition to Xbox Game Pass.

The recent trailer offers a sneak peek of the magical world you’ll be exploring, adding depth to the narrative fans have been weaving since the title’s initial reveal. Haze, the 19-year-old protagonist battling with her own identity, navigates the surreal Prospero to ward off mysterious creatures with the help of a giant talking catfish.
The different gameplay footage features the Southern folklore that inspires the game’s look. Besides the stunning visuals, the stop-motion-esque animation plus the almost Claymation-like textures gives South of Midnight a bold edge.
