Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket's next expansion, A2 Space-Time Smackdown was revealed yesterday, with the set focusing on Generation 4's Diamond and Pearl.
As part of the reveal trailer, the game's developers teased a handful of new cards, including Dialga ex and Palkia ex, starters Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup, and others that included Pachirisu ex, Leafeon, and Gible.
Trading is coming to the virtual trading card game next week.
However, while less than a dozen cards are currently known, out of more than 240, players are already trying to predict the meta and counter the cards they think will feature most prominently.
The first deck archetype that should be slightly worried is Mewtwo ex and Gardevoir, with a new Honchkrow card posing a threat. Like Lumineon, it deals 50 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon.
Its use case is very similar to Lumineon, taking down benched Pokemon before they have a chance to reach their potential, only this time, it has the added benefit of hitting Psychic-type Pokemon for extra damage. Of course, this doesn't apply to benched Pokemon, but if you're using Honchkrow to attack an active Psychic-type, you'll reap the rewards.
