The cozy collaborative MMO Palia has just launched its first update of the year, bringing a "New Beginnings" update as well as the annual Luna New Year celebration. The indie darling's future was uncertain when its developer Singularity 6 faced a rough patch last year. In July of last year, the company was bought out by Daybreak Game Company, the studio behind EverQuest and Lord of the Rings Online, which promised to keep the free MMO up and running.
As 2025 begins, it seems that Daybreak is delivering on that promise, with a new update bringing plenty of new content to explore. The patch notes for version 0.188 are up on the Palia website and include a new loyalty program, wedding decor, and plenty of quality-of-life improvements. The annual Luna New Year celebration will also be returning to the game. This year's celebration will have mini-games, special activities, prizes, and more festivities.
