Hollow Knight fans have been going through a rollercoaster of emotions recently, thanks to what many perceived to be a tease for a potential Silksong reveal during Nintendo's dedicated Switch 2 Direct on April 2 later this year. It all began when one of the game's co-creators, William Pellen, changed the usernames and profile picture of his throwaway Twitter account to tease the date April 2.
There were some other details too, such as the name of the account being connected to a brand of wine from Adelaide - the place in which Team Cherry is based - but it really felt like we were finally getting some news after years of silence. Unfortunately, it now appears as though this ARG was nothing to get excited about after all.
Earlier today, well-known Hollow Knight speedrunner Fireb0rn - who has also been keeping tabs on the entire situation - claimed via their Twitter account that Leth (the nickname of Matthew Griffin, who is essentially in charge of Team Cherry's PR) reached out to them to confirm that there is no Silksong ARG. He also apparently explained that the changes made to William's account are "a nothingburger".
