In case you've not heard of it, Fortune's Run is a first-person shooter with immersive sim elements and an aesthetic not too dissimilar to Doom. Due to its "large scope," the game was released on Steam in early access in September 2023.

Following its launch, updates for Fortune's Run flowed at a steady pace. Unfortunately, though, the game will now be put on hold as the game's developer has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Back in July, Fortune's Run faced significant hurdles. One-half of the two-person developer team underwent major surgery, drastically slowing down the development of the game and causing it to be delayed by a "significant amount." Following the surgery, the other developer left the project, deciding she "was no longer interested in game development."
A little over half a year later, and now working on their own, the game's remaining developer shared a candid message on the game's Steam page about how it "is imploding."
