While the idea of an Assassin's Creed set in Feudal-era Japan was all that series fans wanted for the longest time, Assassin's Creed Shadows has unfortunately been getting dragged ever since it was first revealed. While a big part of this was due to Yasuke's origins, the stale Ubisoft open-world formula was also a part of the issue.

However, recent previews for Shadows have been relatively positive, giving fans some hope. As you probably know by now, Ubisoft is notorious for its monetization systems, even in single player games like the Assassin's Creed series. Some really great looking armour is locked behind paywalls, but the worst part of this practice is the permanent double XP boost that you can buy to make progression less of a grind.
