Split Fiction is ready to ship - more than a month before it's actually set to launch. This was just confirmed by Hazelight Studios head Josef Fares, as the team prepares to launch its latest multiplayer title.
Hazelight Studios' last game was It Takes Two, a multiplayer title that won Game of the Year at The Game Awards when it launched in 2021. With that in mind, expectations are high for this follow-up, especially since this is also focussing on split-screen multiplayer.
If you haven't heard the phrase before, going gold means that the game, as it will play on launch day, is ready to go. This means that everything has been implemented into the game, and it has passed any necessary checks to launch on its targeted platforms. Often, devs will start working on day one patches after a game has gone gold. But for Splitficition to reach this stage so early, Hazelight Studios must be very confident.
