EA may be teasing a re-release or remaster of The Sims 1. First released in 2000, The Sims was the game that started it all, taking the popular Sim franchise and zooming it in for a greater focus on highly customizable individual lives. It's since spawned three more mainline iterations on The Sims formula, countless spinoffs like the MySims series, and seemingly infinite expansion, stuff, and content packs.
And EA appears to be eyeing a return to the original Sims in some way, shape, or form - or at least fans seem to think so, based on a series of images and videos shared on its social media pages honoring The Sims 1's legacy in recent days. First, the official Sims Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) pages changed their banner photos to a retro-style Sim, and their profile photos to a Sims 1 plumbob. Next, the official X page posted a video debuting a new "Sims 25" logo, and depicting a mouse clicking a "Time Travel" option in the classic pie menu.
