Possibly one of the most pleasant surprises of 2024 was the success of Helldivers 2. Not only did Arrowhead Game Studios nail the launch, but even with post-release support, the game has gotten countless updates balancing the game, adding new content and more.
But it seems all that came with a cost -- especially for the studio's head boss, Johan Pilestedt. According to the studio boss, he has been working on the Helldivers IP for 11 years.

Over on Twitter/X, Pilestedt mentioned how he is taking time off to spend time with family, as he has been working "round the clock" for 11 years counting the first Helldivers game that was released in 2015.
Pilestedt states, I am gonna do a sabbatical for a while. I know a lot of you are going to think "por qué?" - well, while you have enjoyed Helldivers 2 for almost a year, I have been living it since early 2016, and with (Helldivers 1)- its since 2013."
Adding to that, Pilestedt notes, "11 years of working "around the clock" on the same IP has made me set aside family, friends and my lovely wife... and...
