Apex Legends' latest Legend may have died before players were even able to use him.
In a new trailer (seen below), Apex Legends' newly announced Legend, Forge, is being interviewed. He speaks about how well he will perform in the Apex Games, and mentions those backing him. The interviewer speaks about the doubts that some have about Forge, but he assures her that he will perform well. That is when the lights flicker, and we see a mysterious figure standing behind Forge. The figure forms its arm into a blade, and stabs Forge in the back. The interview then cuts off. While the trailer does not fully reveal whether or not Forge died from the stabbing, his picture is now grayed out on the Apex Legends Season 4 website, with the caption "Never defeated (except for that one time)" under his image.
While there isn't a 100% confirmation of who stabbed Forge, the community believes that it is the mysterious robot Revenant. The robot has not been officially revealed by developer Respawn Entertainment, but has been the center of leaks that started in October. The Season 4 website does state that the upcoming DLC will feature a "mysterious Legend," pointing at the fact that Revenant may be our new playable character instead of Forge.
Apex Legends' Season 4, which is entitled Assimilation, is bringing with it a bit of new content while also making some changes. We will see a new Legend, whose identity is up in the air at the moment. There will also be a new sniper rifle called the Sentinel. The gun is a bolt-action rifle, and will be the most powerful sniper so far. Ranked will see a few changes. There will be a new Master Tier between the Diamond and Aped Predator tiers. The Apex Predator ranking will be limited to the top 500 players on every platform. Players can be demoted, and be sent back to Master ranking if someone else over takes them.
Apex Legends is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Season 4 will begin on February 4th.
