Monster Hunter Wilds is just about a month away and everyone's waiting to get their hands on it. If you don't believe me, Monster Hunter Wilds has overtaken Deadlock and Hollow Knight: Silksong to become Steam's most-wishlisted upcoming game. With the release date of February 28 coming closer, we're learning more about the upcoming monsters.

Director Yuya Tokuda undoubtedly had to go through a number of proposals for new monsters before fixing on which ones would make it into Wilds. As you can imagine, there would be multiple criteria to judge a proposal by, overall design, technical feasibility, and fun factor included. He recently revealed which was his favourite monster proposal.

In a recent reveal with IGN (thanks PC Gamer), Capcom revealed the latest monstrosity from the Oilwell Basin region of the game. As the name suggests, Oilwell Basin is a region that's covered with oil (don't tell the USA) and is home to some of the most frightening monsters in the game. The latest nightmare revealed from the region is the Nu Udra, and it happens to be Tokuda's favourite.
