The unofficial Bloodborne patch that lets the game hit 60fps has received a DMCA takedown, sparking hope that it’s due to an upcoming remaster or remake.
Bloodborne might be one of the greatest video games ever made, but it has incredibly rough performance problems due to it being locked at 30fps. Bloodborne has never received an updated port, so fans are playing it as the same speed as the PlayStation 4 original.
Naturally, fans got to work fixing the issue, with Lance McDonald releasing an unofficial patch for Bloodborne that boosted it to 60fps. This patch was released in 2021, with no legal action taken from either Sony or FromSoftware.
A new shadow has fallen over Yharnam once more, as Lance McDonald revealed on Twitter/X that they’ve received a DMCA takedown notice for the Bloodborne 60fps patch. While this might seem like a bad thing, it could be good news in disguise.
