The next season of Castlevania will be released soon.

It has been announced that the third season of the Castlevania animated series will be released on Netflix on March 5th. The announcement was made by Netflix on Twitter. The tweet reveals the date, and states that there will be "more mystery, murder, mayhem, and vampires than ever." The tweet also revealed a poster for the upcoming season of the hit show. The poster features main characters Trevor Belmont, Alucard, Sypha Belnades, and more. The poster can be seen here. No other details were given in the tweet.

The third season of Castlevania will see Carmilla return, as she continues to rise in power in the wake of Dracula's death in season 2. The upcoming season will feature many returning characters, as well as a number of new characters. The official synopsis for the upcoming season reads, "Trevor Belmont, last survivor of his house, is no longer alone, and he and his misfit comrades race to find a way to save humanity from extinction at the hands of the grief-maddened Dracula and his sinister vampire war council."

Castlevania is not the only adaptation of a video game on Netflix. Though it is based on books, The Witcher did have ties to the video game series based off of said books, and was one of the most watched shows in 2019. The streaming company has announced plans for a Cuphead adaptation entitled The Cuphead Show, as well as an animated series based off of Dragon's Dogma.

Season 3 of Castlevania will consist of 10 episodes. In comparison, season 1 ran for four episodes, while season 2 contained 8 episodes. Much of creators behind the second season will be returning, including director Sam Deats, writer/executive producer Warren Ellis, and executive producers Adi Shankar, Fred Seibert, and Kevin Kolde.
