After being available on the Epic Games Store for a year, Metro Exodus is finally making its way over to Steam.
Metro Exodus will be available on Steam on February 15th. The PC version of the game released on the Epic Games Store exactly one year before. The shooter was originally meant to release on Steam when it debuted, but a few weeks before release publisher Deep Silver announced that it would sell the game exclusively through the Epic Games Store. According to a tweet from the Metro Exodus account, the game will go on sale at midnight EST, and stated, "Those of you that have been waiting, thank you for your passion and patience."
While the game will be coming to Steam, it has been announced that Metro Exodus will not be available on GOG. A fan asked on Twitter when the game would be available through the platform. They were met with an answer from the Metro account, "We have no current plans to launch Metro Exodus on GOG in the immediate future." It is likely that the game will come to the platform, however, as Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light are both available on GOG.
Metro Exodus is not the only game to be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for an extended period of time. Remedy Entertainment's Control is currently available exclusively on the platform, and will come to Steam in the future. Supergiant Game's Hades was a timed-exclusive for Epic, and released on Steam this past December. Epic is able to get these exclusivity deals by offering developers a 88/12 percent revenue split, competing with Steam's 70/30 split.
Metro Exodus will be available on Steam on February 15th. While the game is not up from pre-order at the moment, gamers can purchase the game's Expansion Pass and its first expansion, The Two Colonels, on Steam right now.
