EA Reveals Battlefield Release Window

Battlefield fans have not had a week this busy in a while, and for once the outlook is tentatively positive.

The week started with the bombastic announcement of Battlefield Labs to help players forget about the disastrous Battlefield 2042 launch in 2021.

The tail end of the video came with the first snippets of gameplay from the new title, and the results are encouraging.

Although it lasted less than 15 seconds, the teaser showed American soldiers wielding M4A1 carbines advancing up a road with an M1 Abrams tank.

No jetpacks, specialists, or other flashy nonsense that should have never left hero shooters in the first place.

If you like what you see, you can (kind of) save the date: the new Battlefield is expected to launch in fiscal year 2026.

The release window confirmation came in the Electronic Arts Q3 FY25 preliminary financial results released today.

EA's FY2026 runs from April 2025 to April 2026. The EA report takes care not to specify a quarter, which is prudent given the direction Battlefield is going.
