Marvel Rivals developer and publisher NetEase Games has apologized to fans for any inconvenience resulting from the ongoing PlayStation Network outage. The interruption of service has rendered Marvel Rivals and every other online game for Sony's consoles unplayable.
The PSN servers went offline in the evening hours (ET) on Friday, February 7. Sony promptly said it was aware of the issue and investigating it, but hasn't provided a meaningful update on its efforts ever since. As of this writing on February 8, the PlayStation Network has already been unavailable for over 19 hours and counting.
An upcoming Sony-published game goes against the grain of recent PlayStation PC releases by dropping the infamous PSN account linking rule.
And while Sony's radio silence on the matter continues, the Marvel Rivals team at NetEase has now issued its own statement on the situation. A representative for the group confirmed that the ongoing outage is the reason why the hit hero shooter is presently unplayable on the PS5. NetEase is in active communication with Sony over when and how the situation will be resolved, the statement reads.
