Alan Wake 2 At 2 Million Units Sold And Has Started Accruing Royalties

In November last year, Remedy Entertainment revealed that Alan Wake 2 had recouped most of its development and marketing costs. In the company's latest financial report, the studio revealed that the horror sequel has now become profitable.

Remedy has announced today that Alan Wake 2 has sold (sold not shipped) two million units and, since Q4 2024, has started accruing royalties for the company.

Alan Wake 2 Finally Profitable For Remedy Entertainment

In the investors report, Remedy mentioned that along the release of the game's second expansion, The Lake House, and the release of the physical retail Deluxe Edition, the physical Collector's Edition, which was shipped to players in December by Limited Run Games, and the PS5 Pro patch, all contributed to long-term sales of the game.

Remedy has started to accrue royalties from the game sales towards the end of Q4 2024, though an exact figure wasn't revealed.

In the same report, Remedy mentioned that Max Payne 1 & 2 Remastered and multiplayer game, FBC: Firebreak are in full production, with Control 2 set to enter full production this month.
