As the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows draws closer, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot held an investor presentation for Q3 2024-2025 financial reports - real riveting stuff. What is interesting, though, is the answer to a question someone asked.

A caller was curious about the contents of Ubisoft's development pipeline. The reply from Guillemot himself was that Ubisoft would mainly focus on open-world games, and live-service games, for the forseeable future.

In particular, Guillemot cited Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six Siege as examples of what the company wanted to make. Anything that could be described as "games-as-a-service" was something they wanted to deliver "year after year".

Moving to discuss future plans, Guillemot noted that they had more than just Assassin's Creed Shadows in the works. Rainbow Six Siege has been "focusing well" and they have "big plans" for the game in 2025. He did not specify what those plans entailed, but using a few context clues, they seem as predictable as they are profitable.

VideoGamesChronicle also notes that, according to Guillemot, Assassin's Creed Shadows is looking to be just as successful as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, if pre-order numbers were anything to go by....
