Elden Ring Nightreign has done away with the most notorious recurring location in the Souls game, sparing fans from the torment of having to slog through dirty water once more.

Hidetaka Miyazaki is known for directing some of the most difficult games of all time. There is clearly a love for punishing the players, but nowhere is this more present than in his obsession with including poison swamps.

Miyazaki has gone on record about his love for poisonous swamps in the Souls series. These locations are filled with water that not only slows down traversal but also inflicts poison on the protagonist. As such, players universally despite them, but Miyazaki’s thirst for the swamps cannot be sated.

Thankfully, Elden Ring Nightreign has been spared the tyranny of the bog. According to a new interview with Famitsu, there won’t be any posion swamps in the upcoming multiplayer game.
