Avowed's early access launch appears to be a hit on Steam, as it's quickly reached "Very Positive" reviews and is the number one top-selling game on the platform right now.
Leading up to Avowed's launch, it's fair to say that a lot of players were worried about how it would end up. Ignoring all of the culture war stuff that has plagued the game over the last year, the lack of marketing and release in the middle of an incredibly stacked month made things look a little rocky, even when the initial previews were positive.
Avowed has varied combat and a substantial length, but feels too shallow to sustain itself.
Obsidian fans were mostly able to breathe a big sigh of relief yesterday when the review embargo for Avowed was lifted and revealed that the game was debuting to "Strong" reviews on OpenCritic. That same positive energy has now carried over to the game's early access launch through its Digital Deluxe Edition.
Although Avowed isn't available for everyone until next week, those who purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game have already got access to it, and that seems to be quite a lot of players. Over on...
