While Avowed has been given a worldwide release date of February 18 (next Tuesday), those who've purchased the game's Premium Edition are already beginning their journeys within the Living Lands.
Avowed has varied combat and a substantial length, but feels too shallow to sustain itself.
Part of that journey begins with creating your character, and while many will likely model their character after their own real-life selves, some have decided to go in an entirely different direction. They're basing their character off John Avowed, a viral meme involving a real-life Indian politician.
As first spotted by GamesRadar, ahead of Avowed's launch, a cursory Google search for "Avowed release date" somehow brought forward a photo of Indian politician Nitin Gadkari waving at a camera.
It's unclear why exactly Gadkari, India's Minister for Road Transport & Highways, became associated with the Obsidian-produced game, but Avowed fans took it in stride, dubbing him "John Avowed." Now, with the game fully playable, they're creating him.
"The man, the myth, the legend," one user wrote in jest. "I wonder if that guy has any idea of his status as a meme?"
We're going to bet that he has no clue, but regardless, he's...
