2v8 is back in Dead by Daylight, temporarily available as part of a Resident Evil event. However, there are some differences this time around, as the devs are experimenting with ways to bring down queue times, especially for killers.
As part of this, it was revealed that matches could be filled with up to two bots on the survivors side. Fans were immediately unhappy with this, prompting devs to reassure them that this would only happen if queue times were too long. However, now that we've seen the bots in action, fans are far from impressed, so this is already being overhauled.
The team started making changes last Friday, reducing the amount of bots being used to fill up 2v8 matches. Instead, more players were encouraged to play by rolling out a triple XP boost. This appears to have done the trick, as the devs revealed that killer wait times were down by three minutes.
"Wait times are improving with less bots and high rewards, although matchmaking time still remains too high, and we are keeping a close eye on increasing Survivor wait times in 1v4," reads the overall takeaway on the experiment.
