More fighters are on the way for Mortal Kombat 11 if a recent rumor proves to be true.

Dataminer thethiny recently dug through the files of Mortal Kombat 11 and found a total of 42 character slots. The most recent fighter, Spawn, was the game's 31st character. This would mean that 11 more fighters are planned for Mortal Kombat 11, which may include the rumored Ash Williams. As thethiny pointed out, Mortal Kombat X had all of its character slots pre-determined in its code at launch. Developer NetherRealm has not revealed any plans for more characters in Mortal Kombat 11, but if this rumor is true, we can expect a few more Kombat Packs. The game's Creative Director Ed Boon has stated that NetherRealm would be supporting the fighter a lot longer than any of the team's previous titles, meaning that the additional characters would make sense.

The rumored 11 fighters is not the only thing uncovered for Mortal Kombat 11. Reddit user Delorean82 noticed a Steam listing earlier today for Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath Kollection. NetherRealm has not announced the Aftermath Kollection, but it could be a bundle containing the game and all of its current DLC. Other NetherRealm titles such as Mortal Kombat X and Injustice received ultimate editions featuring DLC characters. The one-year anniversary for Mortal Kombat 11 is approaching, so it would not be surprising if the Aftermath Kollection is announced soon.

Earlier this week it was seemingly revealed that Ash Williams from the Army of Darkness series will be coming to Mortal Kombat 11. In an email sent out by the game's publisher, a copyright notice was found, referencing the movie series. It would not be surprising if the character comes to the game, as NetherRealm likes adding horror franchise characters into Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat 11 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and the Nintendo Switch.
