Fable 4, which was first announced back in 2020 by the award-winning Forza Horizon developer Playground Games, has officially been delayed.
As reported by Windows Central, Xbox Game Studios lead Craig Duncan revealed on the official Xbox Podcast that it will release sometime next year instead.
Fable devs, including Peter Molyneux and Dene Carter, walk us through the highs and lows of Fable's development.
"We're really excited about [Fable's] progress and where Playground Games are," Duncan explained. "We previously announced [that] Fable [would launch in] 2025. We are actually going to give Fable more time. It's going to ship in 2026 now. While I know that's not maybe the news people want to hear, what I want is to assure people that it's definitely worth the wait."
While Fable 4 has been delayed, it's not all bad news. We got some brand-new footage during the podcast (sorry, listeners), giving us a better glimpse at how Playground's take on Albion is coming along.
Insiders claimed back in December that Fable 4 might come to PS5 due to its "monstrously expensive" budget.
