Without splashing out on Shark Cards or using exploits, how long would it take to become a billionaire in GTA Online? As it turns out, 12,000 hours.

To put into perspective how long that is, GTA 5 came out 4,181 days ago, which means that, on average, u/Agreeable_Corner_298 has played nearly three hours a day since launch, making for a total of 500 days. That's over a year of game time. Understandably then, they jumped to share their milestone with other fans on the game's subreddit, even carving out the word "celebration" on a helipad with a minigun.

However, the 12,000 hours wasn't all active playtime. u/Agreeable_Corner_298 explained that at least a quarter of that was idling, so roughly 3,000 hours if that figure is accurate. They also haven't been striving to get $1 billion for all 13 years since GTA 5 hit store shelves. They only set that goal recently, during the pandemic.
