Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Developer Addresses Complaints About 'FOMO' In Community Events, Says Game Will Never Go 'Full Live Service'

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 fans are safe from the live service game trend, it seems.

In a community update, Focus Entertainment recapped the game’s updates throughout February, including the Datavault update and emotes, and teased what’s coming next. One thing they announced was a new community event where players would be able to get an emblem-less variant of the helmet for the Mk VIII Errant power armor.

However, these community events have been a point of criticism for the community, as they claim that they create a sense of ‘FOMO’ – or fear of missing out – that’s commonly used in live service games to manipulate players into playing so they don’t miss limited-time items. However, Focus Entertainment included a statement in the new update stating that these players have nothing to worry about.

Community Events Only Let Players Get Items Early

In response to player complaints about community events, Focus Entertainment stated that all the items available through them will be available later, and the events are intended as a way for dedicated players to get them earlier and more easily than others.
