Less than 24 hours after release, Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds has established a new all-time concurrent player high for any Capcom game released on Steam, and has even cracked Steam's top 10 highest concurrent player count of all-time.
Monster Hunter Wilds had surpassed one million concurrent players on Steam at the time of writing, making it a historical milestone.
Monster Hunter Wilds Manages To Quadruple Monster Hunter World's Steam Concurrent High
On SteamDB, the game's 24-hour peak has been recorded at 1,307,976. This is already a staggering number, and it's made even more impressive given that it doesn't even factor in the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S player base. Chances are, those are hitting similar (or more) numbers, given the franchise's popularity in its home country of Japan, which is primarily console gamers.
Monster Hunter Wilds has now beaten big games such as Elden Ring (953,426) and Cyberpunk 2077 (1,054,388) to become the sixth-highest concurrent player count holder.
Thankfully, the game's servers are still holding up, and there have been no widespread reports of server outages affecting players.
Don't be surprised to see this number increase even more, as we're heading into the weekend,...
