During a sit-down with fans at York Comic Con earlier this week, Solas actor Gareth David-Lloyd talked about everything Dragon Age, including who he smooched. Y'know, the important stuff.
"First time I romanced Josephine [Montilyet]. Lovely performance, rubbish romance," David-Lloyd said in a video filmed by Twitch streamer LadyCrazyDragon. "And then the second time was Cassandra [Pentaghast]. Yes, that was a good one. And the last... No, the last time I played a female character and romanced myself, which is the best — the best."
Dragon Age and the writers that made it so special have been held back at every turn. With all of them gone now, the series is over.
I had a little peek at AO3 to see what fans might think of David-Lloyd's romance choices, and it turns out they're pretty rogue. There are only 35 works about Cassandra/Solas and just 15 about Josephine/Solas. To put that into perspective, Cassandra makes up a mere 0.25 percent of all Solas fan-fic, and Josephine a tiny 0.10 percent. Though in fairness, even Solas thinks the Josephine romance is "rubbish".
