After a little over 48 hours of speculation, Activision has confirmed that when Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 launches on July 11, THPS 4 will not have its fan-favorite career mode.

THPS4's skating evolution has just just been undone

As first shared by Kotaku, Activision has confirmed that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 will follow the other three games in offering a "streamlined" mode, complete with two-minute goals for players to achieve. This replaces the fully-fledged career mode that made Pro Skater 4 as beloved as it is.

Ever since Tuesday's announcement of the long-rumored follow-up to the original remake of the first two Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games, fans have been speculating that the career mode was axed in favor of the two-minute goal system.

Specifically, fans pointed to language included in a PlayStation Blog post that all but guaranteed that the game fans came to love would not be the one released. In that post, it was noted that players would be able to "skate the original parks from THPS3 and THPS4, remade in 4K resolution and given streamlined goals in the two-minute format, along with some new parks...
