Don't Expect God Of War News At This Month's Anniversary Panel

With rumors swirling around about a remaster of the Greek-era titles on modern hardware, Santa Monica Studio, the team behind God of War, has come out to squash any rumors of a planned announcement at this month's 20th anniversary celebration.

In a post shared on social media, Santa Monica has clearly stated the following:

With such a stellar lineup and all the anticipation we’ve seen around the anniversary, we do want to be clear that there are no planned announcements for this event.

In other words, if you were planning on buying a ticket to the event in the hopes of seeing a trailer, don't. That, of course, doesn't mean the ongoing rumors don't have any validity, but rather, the event is meant as a celebration above all else.

Sony's cancelled live-service God of War game might do better dead than alive.

Late last month, reliable industry insider Jeff Grubb shared that a remaster of the Greek titles is being eyeballed for March. The franchise as a whole will be celebrating 20 years on March 22, the date that Sony first released God of War on the PS2.
