Forza Horizon 5's PS5 Port Will Require A Microsoft Account

An F&Q posted on the Forza Horizon 5 website has confirmed that the PS5 port of the game will still require a Microsoft account to sign in, sparking worries about its playability and preservation in the future.

If there's one thing that we learnt about gamers over the past year, it's that they really don't like having to create multiple accounts to play games. That's been an issue for PC players for a while with Epic and Ubisoft's launchers, but it's started to come back in full force now that multiple consoles are embracing sharing their first-party releases.

Pay close to $100 to play a game early that came out several years ago. Good deal.

The first big case of this was Helldivers 2 on PC requiring a PlayStation Network account to play, resulting in the game getting its user score tanked. PlayStation has continued to make this mistake since then before eventually basically giving up, but it seems that Microsoft hasn't quite learned from that yet.
