In early February, EA finally broke its silence when it gave a first look at the next installment in the Battlefield franchise. The game, which will launch before April 2026, immediately saw over 1.6 million users attempt to sign up for Battlefield Labs, the playtesting service meant to ensure the next Battlefield has a smooth launch.
Monolith will always be remembered as an FPS pioneer, with FEAR standing tall as a cornerstone of the genre.
Now, those playtests are officially happening, with a small group of gamers getting the chance to playtest the game. As is almost always the case in these situations, footage from the game began circulating online. With footage swirling, long-time Battlefield fans took to Reddit to share their impressions. Spoiler: they're impressed.
"This looks f******* awesome," the top comment read. Another top commenter wrote, "The audio is really impressive."
The five-minute gameplay snippet shows a Conquest matchup, featuring some vehicles and destruction elements. Given that it is still a work-in-progress, there are some glitches and visual hiccups, but it's rather solid, all things considered.
