The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima have both received new release dates.
On the PlayStation Blog, Sony announced that The Last of Us Part II will release on June 19th. Ghost of Tsushima will now release on July 17th.
The Last of Us Part II originally had a May release date, while Ghost of Tsushima was meant to released in June. However, due to complications from the COVID-19 pandemic, The Last of Us Part II was put on hold. Ghost of Tsushima was pushed back to July in order to make room for The Last of Us Part II.
Spoilers for The Last of Us Part II have recently made their way onto internet ahead of the game's release. Clips of the game had made their way onto the ResetEra forum, though many of them have been taken down. In light of the leak, developer Naughty Dog issued the following statement on twitter:
"We know the last few days have been incredibly difficult for you. We feel the same. It's disappointing to see the release and sharing of pre-release footage from development. Do your best to avoid spoilers and we ask that you don't spoil it for others.
"The Last of Us Part II will be in your hands soon. No matter what you see and hear, the final experience will be worth it."
Naughty Dog also issued the following statement to Polygon:
"We're disappointed that anyone would release unauthorized pre-launch footage of The Last of Us Part II, disrupt years of Naughty Dog's hard work and ruin the experience for fans worldwide. We want everyone to have the opportunity to play The Last of Us Part II at the same time and ask that viewing or sharing of the unauthorized footage be avoided."
The Last of Us Part II will release on June 19th. Ghost of Tsushima will then come out on July 17th. Both games will be PlayStation 4 exclusives.
