Most skins come back to Fortnite eventually, even if there are years between appearances in the item shop. Lara Croft might well be the exception to that rule for several reasons. There's a silver lining, though. While it probably won't be the original Tomb Raider skin, clues pointing to an all new Lara Croft crossover have been discovered in the latest Fortnite update.
Fortnite leaker Shiina was the first to pick up on a clue that might indicate a new Lara Croft skin is incoming. They discovered a description that reads, "A globetrotting archaeologist with a penchant for dangerous adventures." While it doesn't mention Croft by name, Shiina has claimed it's the first sign that the Tomb Raider will return to Fortnite soon.
Not only a real tease from Fortnite, but a follow-up leak claiming two new skins will arrive soon.
You may well have seen players running around the island as various versions of Lara Croft, but probably not all that much.
