Moon Studios, the developer behind the critically acclaimed Ori franchise and the new early-access title No Rest for the Wicked, has gone fully independent, having secured the publishing rights to the new title.
No Rest for the Wicked is a Diablo-like action role-playing game that was first revealed back in December 2023 and made available in April 2024 as an early-access title on Steam.
Initially, this game was supposed to be published by Private Division, Take-Two’s subsidiary publishing company, which focused on smaller indie titles. However, things changed slightly last year, when Take-Two Interactive announced they were selling Private Division to an unnamed company. Later, it was revealed that Private Division was to be run by former employees of Annpurna Interactive.
According to Take-Two, this sale included the rights to all previous and existing titles published by Private Division. However, they decided to keep No Rest for the Wicked out of the deal for some reason and promised to continue supporting its development.
It has been a couple of months since then, and now Moon Studios has acquired full publishing rights to No Rest for the Wicked from Take-Two. This news was announced...
