It’s been quite some time since we've heard rumors regarding a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Now, it seems that it might be closer than ever.
The initial rumor began circulating during the Microsoft vs. FTC lawsuit, which concerned the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by Microsoft. Back then, a lot of documents with confidential data about unannounced future projects were leaked, and among them was an Oblivion Remaster, set for release in the fiscal year of 2022.
Later, rumors spread by various insiders and leakers suggested that this remaster project was turned into a full-fledged remake of The Elder Scrolls Oblivion, delaying the launch.
When Microsoft announced a new Xbox Developer Direct in January, many fans were hoping to finally get an official look at this long-rumored remake project and a potential remake of Gears of War Collection. However, none of that happened.
Today, NateTheHate, who has been a reliable leaker with a good track record, was asked on X by a user whether he has any news regarding the Oblivion remake. He replied to the question with the following message:
If this rumor is to be believed, then there should be an official announcement later...
