Pokemon TCG Pocket Is Already Removing Trade Tokens

Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket's trading got off to a catastrophic start. As soon as the mechanic launched, it was called "predatory and downright greedy," leading the game's developers to share that they were "actively looking into" changing things. Despite putting such rigid restrictions in place and warning players beforehand, cards were immediately sold on eBay for real money.

Since its release, the trading mechanic has continued to truck along with its harsh requirements, and Space-Time Smackdown cards were just added to the trading pool. True to its word, however, DeNA has just confirmed that it will be making major changes to TCG Pocket's trading, and it is already doing away with the newly released trade tokens.

In an announcement shared on social media, the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket team outlined its plans for making trading "more accessible and enjoyable", starting with the removal of trade tokens.

It said: "Trade Tokens will be completely removed, and players will no longer need to exchange cards to obtain the currency required for trading. Instead, trading cards of three-diamond, four-diamond, and one-star rarity will now require shinedust."
