Rainbow Six Siege has unveiled a new 6v6 mode, core gameplay mechanics upgrades, and some additional novelties set to arrive as part of its next major content drop. Called Rainbow Six Siege X, the new seasonal update is currently targeting a late spring 2025 release.
Ubisoft has been teasing some big changes for Rainbow Six Siege since February 2025. On March 13, the company detailed its near-term plans for the game in the form of Rainbow Six Siege X, touted as the most significant update in the history of the 2015 tactical shooter.

The highlight of the upcoming update is Dual Front, a new mode that pits two six-operator teams against each other instead of using the game's established 5v5 dynamics. Dual Front will allow players to choose from a pool of 35 Rainbow Six Siege operators—including both Attackers and Defenders—which will rotate twice a season.
