Square Enix has just given us an update on the sales of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster games, revealing that they have surpassed five million copies. This is enough to boost all game sales across the entire Final Fantasy series past 200 million - a huge milestone that's almost four decades in the making.

This accounts for sales of all the games worldwide, with the success of the Pixel Remaster helping the series reach this new high. Of course, the performances of recent instalments like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and Final Fantasy 16 would have helped too, with the series having many releases to draw upon.

"The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series has sold over 5 million copies worldwide, and the Final Fantasy series has now sold over 200 million copies across the globe," Square Enix has just announced. "Wherever you joined us on our adventures, thank you.
