Helldivers 2 recently launched a cowboy-themed Warbond fittingly named "Borderline Justice". It's a hog-killin' time, but there's something crucial missing from the pack.
While the Warbond mostly went down well, a lot of fans were mad as a hornet about the lack of cowboy hats, which, in fairness, is the most important part of the cowboy getup. But Arrowhead stuck to its guns, as director and former CEO Johan Pilestedt argued that cowboy hats "crossed the line [of] what the Helldivers are" and that "people don't wear hats on helmets" (even though berets were added last year).
So, modder Doom-mark took it upon themselves to add a bunch of unique "cowboy helmets" to the game, making the Warbond skins feel a little more accurate to the theme. And as commenter JKStahl puts it, "Man was [Pilestedt] wrong".
While this mod is easily the best of the bunch, Doom-mark is far from the only modder to have capitalised on the community's outrage.
