Earlier today, Atlus managed to surprise its fans by revealing a remaster of Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha Vs. The Soulless Army during the Nintendo Direct. It's more of a niche offshoot of the Shin Megami Tensei series, and like most of them, it has a very dedicated following that will likely be thrilled to see the series return on modern consoles.
Shortly after the announcement, Atlus uploaded a spotlight video to its official YouTube channel, going over all the changes and improvements that are coming to the remaster. During the video, director Kazayuki Yamai was quizzed about why Raidou is returning now, and what his revival means for the future of the series.
Yamai explains that a potential return to Raidou was always on his mind whenever he finished a project, but believes that due to the troubled times we currently live in, the game's themes are still very relevant. He then goes on to explain that he hopes Raidou continues to play an "active role" in the future.
