Warner Brothers has canceled a previously planned DLC for Hogwarts Legacy, according to a new report. The DLC release was planned to coincide with the game's rumored Definitive Edition, which would have combined all content created for Hogwarts Legacy.
Bloomberg reported that the DLC release was scrapped due to cost concerns, with Warner Brothers executives fearing players would find the amount of DLC content lacking for the price. The DLC was being developed by Rocksteady Studios in cooperation with Avalanche Software, Hogwarts Legacy's original developer. This is just the most recent in a string of cancelations by Warner Bros., as a planned Wonder Woman game was scratched during studio closures and restructuring in February 2025.
While specifics have been kept under wraps, the DLC was said to contain a new storyline about companions that was removed from the original Hogwarts Legacy game, perhaps due to time, plot, or mechanical limitations. The companions in Hogwarts Legacy included an assortment of Hogwarts students and professors, who each offered their own side quests as players progressed through the story.
